Car boot sale or occasional market authorisation

How we evaluate your application

The Markets Service is responsible for the holding, regulating and controlling markets and fairs in the City of Bradford Metropolitan District area pursuant to its Charter and statutory rights (often referred to as 'market rights'). The Markets Service may allow private and charitable organisations to operate markets, car boot sales or fairs subject to their events complying with the qualifying criteria and payment of a licence fee. A licence will be granted to approved applicants in recognition of the Council's market rights Market Officers can offer advice and guidance for applicants and will liaise with other council departments as part of the application process.
