Pay your Council Tax

Direct Debit

Direct Debit is the quickest and easiest way to pay your bill. Direct Debit payers also have a choice of five payments dates each month: 5th, 10th, 15th, 25th and 28th.

You will need:

  • your Council Tax reference number
  • your Bank or building society details
  • the Council Tax account name and the bank account name will need to match

  • Pay online
  • Pay via our automated line: 0345 1450071

You will need:

  • your Council Tax reference number (from your bill)

In person

  • Go to any PayPoint location.
  • Maximum £300 per transaction. If you need to pay more than £300, you must make more than one payment.

Bank transfer or standing order

Make a payment to the Bradford Council bank account:

  • Sort Code: 56-00-36
  • Account number: 00143790
  • Bank account name: City of Bradford Metropolitan Council.
  • Reference: please enter your Council Tax reference number (from your bill). Do not add anything else to this reference as this will delay the payment reaching your account.

International banking

  • Use IBAN: GB13NWBK56003600143790
  • SWIFT: NWBKGB2L
  • Reference: please use your Council Tax reference number (from your bill). Do not add anything else to this reference as this will delay the payment reaching your account.
  • Add any transaction fees to avoid underpayment.
