Story and rhyme times

Most of the district's libraries run regular free story or rhyme times. Our story times include a craft activity related to one of the day's stories.

These sessions are a great way to introduce young children to libraries. They can join and take out books on their own library card, and they can become members of the Bookstart Bear Club.

But mostly, these sessions are fun! Parents, carers and young children have an opportunity to socialise before and after every session.

Please note that an asterisk * in the list below shows a story time or rhyme time that runs term time only. We often have special activities during school holidays, so contact your local library if you are interested in these.
