Shipley Library

Shipley Library has now re-opened.

This follows a refurbishment that has provided new carpets, new heating and new lighting (including in the re-designed and well used exhibition area), and newly positioned and fit for purpose meeting rooms.

Customers will also be able to issue and return their own books and access their library accounts via the self service kiosk, and will also see improvements in the IT facilities.

About Shipley Library

This library was opened in 1985 and is part of the ASDA supermarket complex which is well located in the town centre. It is a single-storey building which includes the library, community meeting rooms, with kitchen facilities, exhibition area, and a base for Bookstart in the district. Overall, the building has a floor area of 1437 square metres. The building is fully accessible, having automatic main entrance doors and level access throughout. Parking is available for staff and customers.

As well as over 31,000 books and free internet access, the library offers reading groups, taster sessions for IT learners, and access to information throughout the district.
