Skills for Work delivers employment and skills training support for adults as well as young people facing the most barriers to employment. Our key aim is to connect local people to local sustainable jobs.
Skills for Work also provides a range of recruitment and customised training services to meet the workplace skills needs of local employers and aims to improve skill levels in the workplace across the district.
These include helping to identify potential candidates and work placement opportunities that allow potential candidates to be test driven, giving the opportunity to “try before you buy!”
We also provide workplace training, including NVQ training & qualifications, facilitate Apprenticeship training support as well as offer Skills for Life and other bespoke training packages.
Information, Advice and Guidance is also available from our Matrix accredited staff which offers an individualised information service for both employers as well as individuals.
Where disability or ill health is a barrier to employment, Work-Able, our specialist disability service offers a range of training, support and assistance to help disabled people to move into, retain and progress in employment.
Skills for Work is part of the City of Bradford Metropolitan District Council’s Department of Children's Services and delivers programmes on behalf of both the Department for Work and Pensions and the Skills Funding Agency.
Skills for Work supports the Council’s corporate objective of “Creating a More Prosperous District” by seeking to improve the life chances and the economic well being of all people across the district through access to training that leads to employment / progression opportunities, work experience and qualifications.
