Garden waste collection - sign up now
Our garden waste collection service is an easy way for you have your garden waste collected from your home.
When does it happen?
- The service runs from 1 June 2026 to 31 May 2027
- You will get 12 collections, one every four weeks
- There are no collections after 18 December until 19 January
- Please check the website for your collection dates.
How much does it cost?
- It costs £62 for the year
- If you want an extra brown bin, it costs £47 extra
- You must pay all at once and you can't get a refund if you move house or no longer require the service once subscribed.
What do you get?
- A brown bin (240 litres) for your garden waste. New bins will only be provided for first-time subscribers. Renewed subscriptions will not receive a new bin.
- A sticker to put on your bin so we know to empty it
Sign up
- You can subscribe to the service at any time throughout the subscription period, but will be charged the full annual fee. There is no price reduction for subscriptions made during the year, where you get fewer collections.

Renew your subscription
- If there are no changes to your subscription, then you can renew online. If you renew online we will be able to send you a reminder email the day before each of your collections
How to pay
- The easiest way is to pay online with a credit or debit card
- We can’t take cash payments using PayPoint right now, sorry. If you have difficulty paying for the garden waste service please ask a relative or friend to do it on your behalf.
What happens after you sign up
- We'll send you a sticker before your first collection.
- After you subscribe, you will need to wait at least 5 working days before the next scheduled collection date before the bin will be collected.
- If you ordered a bin, it will arrive before 1 June.
- If you subscribe later than 1 June 2026 you may miss some of the collection dates.
- If you do not have a bin, you will need to wait for a bin to be delivered before your collections start.
- Until then, you can take your garden waste to the nearest HWRC.
What you need to do
- Put the sticker on the bin lid so it's easy to see
- Make sure your bin is not mixed with other rubbish
- Put your bin out by 6.30am on collection day
- Check your collection dates online
