Healthy eating can help to prevent obesity, diabetes, some cancers and other preventable diseases. Without cooking skills, families can often opt for less healthy, processed options.
Cook and eat programmes are running in a range of community venues across the district. The sessions usually run for two hours a week over six weeks. They are fun, practical and interactive and give participants the skills and confidence to prepare simple healthy meals on a budget for themselves and their family. Participants will also learn about nutritional requirements, fats and sugars and portion sizes based around the Eatwell Guide.
Programmes are available for families, children and adults (including ladies only and men only).
