 Remembrance Service taking place across the Bradford district - 2025

 

Addingham

10am – Service at St Peter’s Church Street, Addingham. Parade from St Peter's Church to the War Memorial, Main Street (by Memorial Hall) for 11am minutes silence and wreath laying ceremony.

Allerton

10.45am - Assemble at Allerton War Memorial, Lady Hill Park, off Allerton Road for 11am service and wreath laying ceremony.

Baildon

1pm - Tong Park Service. Dignitaries/band gathering at Shroggs from 1.30pm. Parade leaves Shroggs at 2.15pm for Service at the Cenotaph at 2.40pm. Return to Shroggs for refreshments.

Bingley

10.20am - Parade forms up outside Bingley Arts Centre. March sets off at 10.40am to the cenotaph in Myrtle Park for a 11am Service and wreath laying ceremony at Cenotaph in Myrtle Park followed by parade.

Bolton Woods

10.30am - Short Service of Remembrance at Bradford Christian School followed by wreath laying ceremony at 11am at the War Memorial, Livingstone Road, Bolton Woods. Gathering following wreath laying at Bolton Woods Community Centre.

Bradford

10.30am - Gather at the Cenotaph for 11am Service of Remembrance and wreath laying ceremony.

Burley-in-Wharfedale

10.45am - Outdoor Service and Act of Remembrance at the war memorial by Burley Grange. The Methodist Church will be open for anyone to watch the live streamed outdoor service if they don't wish, or are unable, to stand outside.

Cottingley

10.45am - Service at St Michael and All Angels Cottingley followed by Act of Remembrance and wreath laying.

Clayton

10.30am - Service at the Parish Church of St John the Baptist, Clayton Lane followed by walk to the Cenotaph in Victoria Park Clayton. For 12pm Act of Remembrance and laying of wreaths at the Cenotaph. Refreshments will be served in the Village Hall following the laying of wreaths.

Cross Roads, Lees, Bocking

10am – All-age Service of Remembrance St James Church, Haworth Road, Crossroads followed by wreath laying ceremony at the War Memorial in Cross Roads Park at 10.50am.

Cullingworth – awaiting confirmation

9.30am - Church service followed by Remembrance Sunday Service at 10.55am at the War Memorial, Halifax Road, Cullingworth

Denholme – awaiting confirmation

10am - Service of Remembrance at the Shared Church. At 10.45am Gather by the Youth Café (Green building by entrance to Foster Park) on School Street, for the parade to the Cenotaph in Foster Park. Wreaths will be laid. Following the service, refreshments will be provided in the Youth Café

Eccleshill – awaiting confirmation

Parade assembles at the Bowling Green end of the Recreation Ground adjacent to Stone Hall Road Eccleshill. 2.55pm Parade from Bowling Green to Cenotaph. 3pm Service and wreath laying ceremony.

Esholt – Awaiting confirmation

 

Great Horton - This service will take place on Thursday 6 November

10.15am - Service at St Wilfrid’s Church, Lidget Green followed by wreath laying and minutes silence in the Memorial Garden, at the side of the Church on Clayton Road.

Greengates

10am - Service at St John's Church Greengates. 10.45am Parade to Cenotaph Harrogate Road. 11am Short service with 2 minutes silence and wreath laying ceremony. 11.15am Parade back to St John's Church. Refreshments will be provided in the Church Hall following the ceremony and parade.

Greenwood Park, Sandy Lane

11am - Service at Greenwood Park War Memorial, followed by wreath laying ceremony. Scout parade around the park at 10.45am. 10.30am assemble near the war memorial in Greenwood Park, Cottingley Road, Sandy Lane. All invited to refreshments at Bethel Baptist Church, Sandy Lane (opposite the park) following the event.

Harden

10.45am - Assemble at Harden War Memorial. 11am Wreath laying ceremony. 11.15am Joint Service of Remembrance at either Harden Congregational Church or St Saviours tbc (both churches opposite the Memorial).

Haworth

10.50am - Service of Remembrance at Haworth War Memorial

Ilkley

2.20pm - Assemble at Whitton Croft Road (directly behind the Town Hall) parade marches left onto Chantry Drive, left onto Station Road and straight onto The Grove. 3pm Remembrance Service and wreath-laying ceremony in the Memorial Gardens.

Keighley

Civic dignitaries meet at Keighley Town Hall, parade assembles at Russell Street.

9.35am parade moves off, 9.40am civic dignitaries move off meet parade. 9.50am arrive at Keighley Shared Parish Church.10.35am parade to Town Hall Square.10.50am prayers and Act of Remembrance 11am two minutes silence. 11.45am parade moves off - end of event.

Low Moor, Friends of Harold Park

2pm - Service of Remembrance and wreath laying ceremony at the Cenotaph, Rose Garden, Harold Park.

Menston

10.45am - Service of Remembrance led by local ministers at the Memorials outside Kirklands Community Centre. Assemble for service at 10.30am. Refreshments in Community Centre following service.

Oakworth

10.45am - Service of Remembrance and wreath laying ceremony at the War Memorial in Oakworth Park.

Oakenshaw – awaiting confirmation

Oxenhope

10.45am - Service of Remembrance and wreath laying ceremony at St Mary's the Virgin Church followed by refreshments after the service.

Queensbury

10.30am - Parade forms up outside Scout HQ Albert Crescent. 10.45am Parade moves off. 10.55am Act of Remembrance and wreath laying at the Cenotaph. 11.15am Parade moves off to Holy Trinity Church. 11.30am Service of Remembrance at Holy Trinity Church. 12.10pm Parade forms up on Russell Road. 12.15pm Parade moves off with salute taken at the Cenotaph by Deputy Lieutenant and Councillors. 12.30pm Parade dismisses outside Scout HQ, Albert Crescent.

Shipley

10am - Service of Remembrance at St Paul's Church, Kirkgate, Shipley followed by parade to the Cenotaph in Crowgill Park. 10.55am Act of Remembrance and wreath laying ceremony.

Silsden

10.45am - Parade departs from Wesley Place to the Cenotaph in the Memorial Gardens in Silsden; 11am Service of Remembrance and wreath laying ceremony at the Cenotaph.

Stanbury

3pm - Wreath laying and Act of Remembrance at Stanbury Cemetery, followed by refreshments at St Gabriel’s and Evensong at 4pm.

Steeton with Eastburn

10am - Joint Service of Remembrance at St Stephen's Church, St Stephen's Road, Steeton. 10.50am Act of Remembrance and wreath laying ceremony at Steeton War Memorial, followed by two minutes' silence. Refreshments will be served at the end of the event in St Stephen's Church Hall

Thornton

10.45am - War Memorial Lower end of Thornton cemetery. 11am Service of Remembrance and wreath laying at War Memorial

Tong

10.45am - War Memorial (just inside the gates of Tong Cemetery at junction of Tong Street and Toftshaw Lane) 11am Wreath laying ceremony

Wibsey – awaiting confirmation

10.30am - Remembrance Service at Wibsey cenotaph on Mount Road and St Enochs Road, with a two minutes silence at 11am

3pm - Act of Remembrance and wreath laying ceremony led by Wibsey Village Clergy at Wibsey Cenotaph.

Wilsden

10.45am - Gather at the War Memorial on Main Street, Wilsden for a service of Remembrance and wreath laying ceremony. This will be followed by refreshments in New Inn, Wilsden. Please be aware the roads leading to and from the War Memorial will be closed from 10.30am and re-open at 11.30am

Wyke, Low Moor

12.30pm - Assemble at the Cenotaph on Cleckheaton Road junction Common Road, Low Moor. Short service of Remembrance and wreath laying ceremony.
