Sustainability

Bradford Council is committed to creating a healthier, more sustainable and more prosperous Bradford District. As part of this commitment, we are working with partners, businesses and communities to reach net zero carbon emissions by 2038 and to make significant progress towards this goal by 2030. By doing this Bradford District will not only become a healthier and more resilient place, but will also play its part in slowing the pace of climate change globally, helping to safeguard lives, livelihoods and nature.

The Council’s Sustainability Service leads, co-ordinates, supports or promotes projects and campaigns that reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, help people and organisations adapt to the consequences of climate change, improve air quality, and protect and enhance the natural world on which all of our lives depend.
