'New to me' re-use service

The Council's Waste department offer a re-use service called ‘New to me’ which means that people on a trip to the tip may end up coming back with more than they set off with!

Our Household Waste Recycling Centre at Bowling Back Lane offers goods which have been left at our various recycling centres and which are still considered to be useful. Staff at each recycling centre in the district look out for items in good condition which have been left by residents and these items will be transferred to the New To Me shop.

All items will be displayed at the “New To Me” shop at Bowling Back Lane BD4 8SZ where people can purchase items from as little as £2 each dependent upon the item and quality with all proceeds being used to cover the costs of providing this service.

The majority of goods on offer will include small items of furniture, kitchen utensils, crockery, pans, toys, books or other re-usable goods. Please note that because of the possible danger, items such as children’s car seats, prams, pushchairs, bikes, helmets or electrical goods will not be included.

The shop is situated away from the main disposal skips and will be supervised during the opening times which are currently Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, 10am to 4pm. These times may be altered without notice due to operational reasons. Only card payments will be accepted and all items are sold as seen with no refunds available.
