Notice of Cancelled Election - District Councillors for Idle and Thackley ward
Notice is hereby given that the election of councillors to the Idle and Thackley ward is hereby countermanded in accordance with Rule 55 of the Local Elections (Principal Areas) (England and Wales) Rules 2006, due to the death of a candidate in the election named above.
The Returning Officer will order a new election to be held for this ward, the date being within 35 days (excluding Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays) from the date originally fixed as the day of election for the countermanded poll.
New nominations may be accepted, but no fresh nomination is necessary in the case of a person remaining validly nominated as shown in the Statement of Persons Nominated.
Notice of the new election to be held will be published not later than 25 days (excluding Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays) before the date of the election.
