What is Bradford Leisure Card?

The Bradford Leisure Card entitles you to reduced admission for a wide range of leisure activities including:

  • reduced price admission to all normal public swimming sessions
  • free admission and equipment hire and half price activity charge with up to seven days advance booking at sports centres
  • half price for games of bowls, tennis, putting and pitch and putt
  • discount at Doe Park Water Activities Centre
  • discount at the Alhambra Theatre and St George’s Hall

Bradford Leisure Card is the new name for Passport to Leisure.

How much does a Bradford Leisure Card cost?

  • Adults: £3 per year
  • Children: £1.50 per year, for dependent children of adults who have a Bradford Leisure Card. Children under 3 years old do not need a Bradford Leisure Card.
  • Over 60's: £6 for 3 years

Do I qualify for a Bradford Leisure Card?

You will qualify if you live in the Bradford district (the Bradford Council Tax area).

And

if you are:

  • 16 or 17 years old
  • 60 years old or over
  • a full time student (18 years old or over)
  • an asylum seeker

Or

if you receive:

  • Jobseeker's Allowance (contribution based)
  • Employment and Support Allowance (contribution based)
  • Personal Independence Payments
  • Disability Living Allowance (High or Middle Rate)
  • Carers Allowance
  • Fostering Allowance

Or

You, your partner and dependants under 16 will qualify if you receive:

  • Housing Benefit
  • Council Tax Reduction (not Single Person Discount)
  • Income Support
  • Jobseeker's Allowance (income based)
  • Employment and Support Allowance (income based)
  • Pension Credit Guarantee Credit
  • Universal Credit
  • Working Tax Credits

How to apply

Please email bfdleisurecardapp@bradford.gov.uk to register your interest for a Bradford Leisure Card. A member of our team will then contact you within 10 working days.

Please include the following information with your email:

  • Name of the person applying
  • Address
  • Date of birth
  • Telephone number

Terms and conditions

The Bradford Leisure Card is non transferable and may only be used by the named individual. A photograph will be taken on issue of the pass; this will be stored by Bradford Council for the purposes of identification only.

  1. The Bradford Leisure Card will be valid for one year from the date of issue and can be renewed annually no more than 30 days in advance of the expiry date (subject to eligibility). Three year cards are available for people aged 60 and over. It is the cardholder’s responsibility to renew the Bradford Leisure Card and a renewal fee will be applicable.
  2. All fees and charges for the Bradford Leisure Card and associated activities will be
    determined by Bradford Council. We reserve the right to review and change the charges and conditions of use
  3. The Bradford Leisure Card Scheme is only open to Bradford residents. 
  4. We reserve the right to exclude or suspend a Bradford Leisure Card in cases where the person has lodged a false application, or failed to comply, with the management rules of any Bradford Council Sport and Leisure facility
  5. Lost or damaged cards should be reported immediately to reception at any Sport and Leisure facility. A charge of £3 will made for a replacement card
  6. The card must be produced on each visit to obtain a discount. Without the card, normal
    charges will apply
  7. The administration of this scheme is computerised and therefore registered with the Data Protection Registrar in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1984 and 1998. This information is only kept and used by Bradford Council and is not shared with any third party. From time to time we will send you information and offers.
