Evidence, data and monitoring
The Evidence Base is the information and data gathered by local authorities to support the development of their plans and ultimately justify the "soundness" of the policy approach set out in Local Development Documents, including physical, economic, and social characteristics of an area. The evidence base for plan-making needs to be proportionate to the scale and type of policy work undertaken.
