Bradford District’s Economic Recovery Plan

Following an inclusive consultation process, Bradford’s Economic Recovery Board has developed an ambitious new plan to support the district’s recovery from Covid-19.

The Bradford District’s Economic Recovery Plan sets out how partners will sustain jobs and boost productivity whilst building an inclusive, sustainable and resilient local economy.

The delivery of the plan will be overseen by the Bradford Economic Partnership which includes representatives from businesses, education and other key partners across the district.

Before the Covid-19 pandemic, Bradford was making strong progress with its economic growth strategy.

The older strategy sought to get more people into work and improve the skills of residents with an overall ambition of becoming the UK’s fastest-growing economy.

The Economic Recovery Board stress-tested the existing strategy following the outbreak of Covid-19 to produce an effective and ambitious recovery plan.

The plan addresses the economic challenges that have arisen due to the Covid-19 pandemic and seeks to capitalise on key opportunities such as the emergence of the green economy, whilst continuing to build a more inclusive, sustainable and resilient economy.
