Can furniture be included as part of the application?

Furniture can be included as part of a wider refurb application (so not just purchasing furniture), though replacing like for like does not constitute capital expenditure. It will be reviewed as part of the overall application. (12/08/26)

Are schools eligible for repairs / upgrade to school buildings or outdoor areas?

No, school buildings / spaces are not eligible. (12/08/26)

Can the grant be used to pay for routine repairs / maintenance work?

No, this does not meet the criteria of the grant. (12/08/26)

Can partnerships apply (i.e. more than one organisation)?

Yes - however due diligence will be undertaken for all applicants. It might be worth considering having a lead applicant. (12/08/26)

Can the grant be used to purchase misc. equipment (e.g. exercise equipment)?

No, as a general rule this does not meet the criteria of the programme. (12/08/26)

Can the grant cover a phase / part of a larger project?

Yes it can, though you will need to clearly set out what the phase is within the larger project, that phase will need completing by February 2028, and you will also need to share the match funding for that phase (if relevant). (28/08/26)

Do you need a full bank statement in the applicant name (as per the guidance) or just the name and details of the bank account?

We need a copy of the full bank statement clearly showing the applicant’s name as well as bank account number. Any sensitive information can be redacted.(28/08/26)
