Bradford District Armed Forces Covenant Partnership

The Armed Forces Covenant is a promise from the nation that no one who serves or has served in the Forces, or their families, should face disadvantage when accessing services compared the rest of the population.

On 30 January 2012, the Council and partners came together to show their commitment and support to the local Armed Forces Community and signed the Community Covenant (now known as the Armed Forces Covenant). The Council and partners who signed the Community Covenant came together to form the Bradford District Armed Forces Covenant Partnership with their first meeting held on the 26 April 2012.

The Bradford District Armed Forces Covenant Partnership aims to:

  • Ensure members of the Armed Forces Community have equal access to services and are treated with respect and in an equitable manner throughout the District
  • Monitor the impact of the Armed Forces Covenant and ensure that its aims are met
  • Seek to promote the signing of the Covenant by partner organisations and members of the charitable and voluntary sectors and ensure that the commitments made are adhered to

The Partnership have a joint action plan outlining projects and work to strengthen the ties between members of the Armed Forces Community and the wider community in Bradford District. You can view the current action plan here.
