Community Infrastructure Levy
The Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) is a levy which the Council may charge on new developments to fund infrastructure such as schools, transport, parks, open spaces and other community facilities, required to support new housing and economic development in the District.

Adoption
The Bradford District Community Infrastructure Levy Charging Schedule was formally approved by Full Council on 21 March 2017 and took effect from 1 July 2017.

Examiner's report
Following the CIL examination, the Council has received the Report on the Examination of the Draft CIL Charging Schedule for the Bradford District. This report recommends that the Bradford CIL charging schedule can be adopted, subject to two modifications to meet the statutory requirements.

- 2. Draft Charging Schedule (December 2015)
Following consultation on the CIL Preliminary Draft Charging Schedule a CIL Draft Charging Schedule has been prepared for submission to government for independent examination.

Public Consultation - Draft Charging Schedule (14 December 2015 to 8 February 2016)
The Draft Charging Schedule was published for public consultation over an 8 week period from Monday, 14 December and ending 1pm on Monday, 8 February 2016.
Public consultation on the CIL Draft Charging Schedule has been extended to 5pm on Friday 22 April 2016 in line with the Updated Notice of Representation on the Bradford CIL Draft Charging Schedule under related links below.
What happens next?
Once the Council has considered all the representations received, it will submit the Draft Charging Schedule for independent Examination. Where any further changes are made to the Draft Charging Schedule after publication, the council must set these out in a 'statement of modifications' which will be made available for comment before the examination. The Council anticipates adopting the CIL charging rates during 2016.
