The consultation period is now closed.
The draft Climate Action Plan (CAP) 2025-28 consultation is now closed. Thank you to everyone who shared their views and contributed to shaping our Climate Action Plan.
We are currently reviewing all feedback and incorporating the outcomes into the final Climate Action Plan.
You can still read the draft Climate Action Plan which sets out a comprehensive package of projects, programmes and communications activities that will support the Council’s vision of achieving Net Zero by 2038 and making significant progress by 2030.

- Climate change refers to long-term changes in temperature and weather patterns, mainly driven by human activities such as burning fossil fuels and deforestation which increase the amount of greenhouse gases (for example, carbon dioxide) in the atmosphere
- Nature/biodiversity loss is the reduction in the variety and amount of living things, including plants and animals, from the destruction of their natural environments, pollution, and climate change.
- Net Zero is achieved by reducing greenhouse gas emissions as much as possible and removing the remaining emissions to prevent climate change.
