What is Single Person Discount?

If you live in a house by yourself and you are over 18 years old, you can get a Single Person Discount on your Council Tax bill. This means you will receive a 25% reduction on your bill.

Please note:

The council checks from time to time to make sure only one adult lives in the house. They might send letters, emails, call you, or even visit your home to check.

If someone moves in with you, you must tell the council right away so they can update your bill.

It is against the law to provide false information to the council.

You need to tell us about any changes within 21 days, or you could receive a fine or event be prosecuted.
