How to pay the CAZ penalty charge
Make your payment
If you got a Penalty Charge Notice (PCN) for driving in Bradford’s Clean Air Zone without paying, here’s what you need to do.
You will need your PCN number (like DY12345678) and your vehicle registration number
You must pay the PCN fine: £120. If you pay within 14 days, it’s reduced to £60 plus the CAZ charge: £7, £9, or £50 (depends on your vehicle type)
You still have to pay the outstanding CAZ charge even if your PCN is reduced.
How to pay
- Online: Pay the PCN
- Phone: Call 0345 145 0071 (You can pay using a credit or debit card)
Before you pay, please wait 1 working day after getting your PCN.
Don't ignore your PCN
If you don’t pay or appeal within 28 days, the fine may go up and enforcement action could begin.
To submit a representation (appeal) against a Bradford Clean Air Zone (CAZ) Penalty Charge Notice (PCN) read the information here: How to appeal a CAZ Penalty Charge page.
If you don't pay your PCN and CAZ chaarge
You have 28 days to pay your fine and the CAZ charge.
If you don’t pay or appeal, the council will send you a Charge Certificate. This means your fine will go up by 50%.
If you still don’t pay, the council may take legal action. You could get a court order and even be visited by bailiffs.
