Due to unprecedented demand, all our clean air vehicle grants schemes are now closed to new applications.
If you have made a grant application, please do not upgrade/replace your vehicle until an offer of a grant is confirmed. Even if you meet the eligibility criteria, there may not be funds remaining to offer you a grant.
Applications are being processed in date order of receipt. Once all remaining funds are allocated, all other applications will be held on a waiting list or rejected.
The Clean Air LGV Programme provides funding to help local companies (SMEs) and charities to upgrade their vehicles to meet the Clean Air Zone (CAZ) standards. Charities, Educational Establishments, Community Transport Operations and businesses classed as Small/Medium sized enterprises (including self-employed/sole traders) based within the Bradford Metropolitan District are eligible to apply.
The business / organisation must have been registered at an address within the Bradford Metropolitan District prior to 14 June 2023 and continuously up to the time of grant application.
The business / organisation must own a non-compliant vehicle registered in the Bradford District from prior to 14 June 2023 and continuously to the time of the application. The non-compliant vehicle must be in use i.e. taxed, insured and with a valid MOT continuously during this period.
Grants are not available to any applicant who has already upgraded or bought a compliant vehicle. Grants cannot be awarded retrospectively.

For clarity, where this information refers to the Clean Air Zone vehicle standard, for LGVs and minibuses, the standard is that the vehicle must be either Euro 6 diesel, Euro 4 petrol, Euro 4 petrol/LPG conversion, Euro 4 petrol/hybrid, fully electric or hydrogen fuel.
