Arts, Culture and Heritage Grants

Culture will make a significant and sustainable contribution to the future prosperity of our District as we strive to level up. Culture will also make a significant contribution to our recovery from COVID 19 and to the growth of a cleaner future economy as one of four pillars of the district’s new Economic Recovery Plan.

Bradford Council strives to be a proactive supporter and enabler of the District’s independent cultural sector. One of the most important ways we do this is through direct support for arts, cultural and heritage activity through our grants programmes. Our commitment to support culture in this way makes a powerful case for increased national investment into Bradford District to enable us to level up further, realise the creative potential of our people and change perceptions of our District in the process.

We have recently supported the creation of a new ten-year cultural plan for the District called Culture is our Plan. The plan has been co-created by the people of the district and the cultural sector itself and will act as a guide to activity between 2021 and 2031.

In direct support of the ambitions we have redesigned Bradford Council’s cultural grants programme.

There are now two main grant programmes available for arts, cultural and heritage activity: small and large project grants.
