What can I expect of the admin team?

On receipt of either an urgent or standard authorisation the admin team will:

  • Arrange for all the assessments to be carried out¬†
  • Forward all assessments to the supervisory body to carry out the decision-making process

Please fax forms immediately or post the originals the same day to the DoLS admin team at:

Alternatively you can hand deliver the forms by 10am the following working day.

Decision timescales

Any urgent application decisions have to be made within seven days (but in exceptional circumstances this can be extended for a further seven day period) and all standard application decisions have to be made within 21 days.

Independent Mental Capacity Advocate (IMCA)

We have arranged to use the following two organisations to provide IMCA if required under the Mental Health Capacity Act 2005.
