Value

£1.1m

Purpose

This project delivers a much needed modernisation programme to the former school house. The improvements to the fabric of the existing building will make the centre a more adaptable and flexible location for a variety of uses whist also significantly reducing energy consumption and thereby lowering running costs. Additionally, removing more modern ad hoc extensions will make way for the development of an XR studio and associated spaces which will provide a state-of-the-art facility as a field centre/research space for local university use and multi-national tech companies, together with delivering educational opportunities for the whole range of learners.

Position up to April 2024

Project currently at RIBA 4. Currently scope of work and programme is being considered as Town Deal funding is not sufficient to deliver the refurbishment and extension. A project board is being established and costs being sought from the QS which will assist the leads to form a phasing plan.
