Parliamentary Boundary Review

The Boundary Commission for England (BCE), an independent public organisation responsible for reviewing Parliamentary constituency boundaries in England, commenced a review 13 September 2016.

The first and second stages of the consultation for the 2018 Parliamentary Boundary Review (reducing the number of constituencies in the UK from 650 to 600) have concluded and, following feedback, revised proposals were published 17 October 2017.

The final 8 week consultation is now underway, closing 11 December 2017. Anyone can participate and provide their views on proposals for their area. This is the last opportunity for people to comment on the new Parliamentary constituencies.

Representations about the proposals can be made directly to the Boundary Commission for England via their interactive consultation website at, or in writing to the Boundary Commission for England, 35 Great Smith Street, London, SW1P 3BQ

After looking at whether any more changes need to be made, in September 2018 the Commission will make final recommendations in a report published and presented to the Parliament.
