Fairtrade is about better prices, decent working conditions, local sustainability, and fair terms of trade for farmers and workers in the developing world
The Fairtrade towns movement continues to grow in the both the UK and overseas, with over 1,200 Fairtrade towns in almost 25 countries.
Fairtrade has created a new dimension to Bradford’s twinning link with Hamm, Germany, as Hamm was awarded Fairtrade town status on 20th October 2012.
The Fairtrade Bradford steering group continues to promote Fairtrade wherever possible and organises a wide variety of Fairtrade events across the district. The group is delighted that Bradford Fairtrade Zone has played its part in Yorkshire being declared the UK’s first Fairtrade Region.

Bradford was formally declared a Fairtrade Zone on March 6th 2006.
