Freedom of the City

The following regiments enjoy the Freedom of the City:

  • 4th Battalion, The Parachute Regiment
  • 212 (Yorkshire) Field Hospital (Volunteers)
  • 269 (West Riding) Battery Royal Artillery (V)
  • 3rd Battalion, The Yorkshire Regiment

Celebratory, recognition and remembrance events

Annual Veterans' Lunch hosted by the Lord Mayor with 100 guest veterans' drawn from associations across the District alongside some serving personnel.

Veterans' Day in Centenary Square (end of June) to celebrate and honour past Services personnel (part of Armed Forces Week).

Armed Forces Day in Centenary Square (fourth Saturday in June) with bands and other entertainment. (Part of Armed Forces Week) to honour past, present and future Service personnel.

Flag Raising in Centenary Square at the start of Armed Forces Week that culminates in Armed Forces Day.

Remembrance Day Services throughout Bradford District in November.
