Footpath 19 Keighley Modification Order 2021

A formal application was received by the authority in 2014 to amend the alignment of Footpath 19 Keighley near Braithwaite, Keighley. The authority investigated the application including assessment of all the available evidence and concluded that there was no substantiated evidence to show that the application route existed; however, evidence did show that the central section of the footpath in the area of the buildings of Daisy Hill Farm / Westfield Farm had been recorded incorrectly. A Definitive Map Modification Order was therefore made accordingly on 25 March 2021.

There were 19 objections to the Order. In accordance with the law, the authority submitted the opposed Order and copies of the objections and evidence to the Secretary of State. The Secretary of State appointed an independent Planning Inspector to decide the matter at a public inquiry which was held at City Hall, Bradford on 24 and 25 October 2023.

Following the inquiry, the Inspector confirmed the Order on 8 November 2023. A copy of the Inspector’s decision report is below. A copy of the confirmed Order and the notice of the confirmation of the Order is also below; the notice will be advertised in the Telegraph and Argus newspaper on 28 October 2023.
