You can access prospectuses for local colleges and universities and use our free internet access to help you find what you're looking for.

Employment

Unemployed or thinking about changing your job? Interested in voluntary work or training?

We can help you to make the right choices by discussing your individual needs.

We provide access to up-to-date job vacancies.

We can help you to complete jobs application forms, compile your CV and offer one to one support and help in your job search.

We can also help you with other employment related topics e.g. training, identifying child care, working out what benefits you can claim and how much, and how to access voluntary work.

Sport, travel and leisure

Want to take up a new sport, hobby or activity? Want to travel, work or study abroad? Want to find some ideas of what to do in your leisure time?

Housing

Homeless? Looking to move?

Staff can provide basic information and tell you the best place to get further help. If you are homeless, we have contact details of organisations that provide free food for homeless people and we can refer to Bradford Nightstop; We also have details of housing associations and furniture for people on low incomes. Free use of computers and phones is available to look for accommodation.

Housing advice

Help with homelessness, landlord and tenant problems, applying for benefits and any other housing issues.

The following drop in services are provided (please always ring first to check that the drop in is available on that day):

  • Monday 10.30am to 2.00pm
  • Tuesday and Thursday 10.00am to 12.00pm
  • Wednesday 10.30am to 4.00pm

16-2-25 will also offer drop in sessions at the following organisations:

  • Tuesdays 12.30pm - 4.00pm at Shipley Youth Cafe, 21-22 Market Street, Shipley, BD18 3QD
  • Thursday 12.30pm - 4.00pm at Prism City Farm, Walker Drive, Girlington BD8 9ES
  • Friday 11.30am - 3.00pm at the Information Shop - Keighley, Keighley Town Hall, Bow Street, Keighley BD21 3PA

Money

  • Need to sign on or claim other benefits?
  • Problems with debt?

Staff can help you complete benefit claim forms or put you in touch with specialist agencies.

Specialist benefits and debt drop in services

Please always ring first to check that the drop in is available on that day.

Help and support in applying for all welfare and Council benefits, tax credits, appeals undertaken etc. Debt advice e.g. credit cards, phone companies and store cards.

Staff can provide you with contacts that can help.

Problems with goods or services?

Call in for contact details of consumer organisations and information on your rights as a consumer.

Need to know your rights?

Staff can refer you to organisations that can help you with your rights on employment, immigration, housing, welfare benefits etc

Advice on your rights about housing and homelessness, welfare benefits, tax credits and debt.

Health, sexual health and contraception

You can talk to a member of staff in confidence at any time or pick up a variety of leaflets.

Chlamydia screening

Postal Chlamydia kits are available. Please call in for one during Information Shop opening hours.

Free Condoms

Visit the Information Shop during opening hours and staff can provide you with a supply. Just ask a member of staff for the Friends' Service.
