Children in Care Council

Bradford’s Children in Care Council (CICC) is comprised of young people who are in care or are care leavers. They endeavour to represent the views, opinions and best interests of all 'care' young people in the district. The CICC hold their council meetings weekly to explore and discuss all the issues that affect the children and young people they represent.

The CICC or their delegates represent the concerns and views of young people to the Director, assistant Director and lead member of Bradford Council on a quarterly basis. CICC delegates also sit on the corporate parenting panel with elected members ensuring the voices of young people with a care background are at the heart of planning, service delivery and quality assurance.

The CICC also offer training, consultations and interview panels to a number of professional agencies. The CICC take part in discussions and consultations at a regional and national level and they organise events where the wider views of 'care' children and young people are sought.
