Step-parent Adoption (Non-Agency Adoptions)

If you would like to start the process of adopting your step-child/children, you will need to supply a “Notice of Intent to Adopt”, which is a short letter that should include a few sentences explaining what you would like to do. Please include details for everyone involved (including names, dates of birth and relationship to each member of the household) along with your contact details.

You should mark your envelope "Step-parent adoption" and post it to the address in contact details.

You will receive a letter of acknowledgement and an assessing social worker will phone you as and when resources permit.
