Wall strengthening work to start

Article dated Tuesday May 30, 2017 at 05:52 PM

Bradford Council will start essential wall strengthening works on the B6141 Station Road and Honey Pot View in Oxenhope in July.

The works are provisionally scheduled to start on Monday 3 July and are expected to last 20 weeks.

Honey Pot View will be closed to vehicles so that the works can be carried out as quickly and safely as possible but there will be residents only access and pedestrian access.

All the traffic using Honey Pot View will be diverted via A6033 Hebden Bridge Road, Best Lane and Lowertown.

Station Road will remain open but temporary traffic lights will be in place.

Warning signs will be put up in advance and the diversions will be clearly signposted while the works are taking place.

The West Yorkshire Passenger Transport Executive, West Yorkshire Police, Fire Service and Ambulance Service will be made aware of these works.

Julian Jackson, Bradford Council's Assistant Director for Planning, Transportation and Highways, said: "We apologise for any inconvenience caused but this work is essential. Parts of the wall foundations have been undermined by flooding and further flooding could cause it to collapse."

Anyone needing further information about these works should contact 01274 431000.
