Two major roundabouts on Wakefield Road, Bradford closed for resurfacing work

Major resurfacing work is being planned by Bradford Council on two main roundabouts on Wakefield Road in Bradford.

The Wakefield Road roundabout at Bowling Back Lane is to be closed for the work from 5am on Saturday 11 August until 5am on Monday 13 August.

The roads on all approaches to the roundabout will be closed with signed diversion routes in place via Shipley Airedale Road, Leeds Road and Sticker Lane.

The A6177 Dudley Hill roundabout will be closed for resurfacing from 5am on Saturday 18 August to 5am on Monday 20 August.

The roads on all approaches to the roundabout will be closed with signed diversion routes in place via Leeds Road, Shipley Airedale Road, Croft Street, Manchester Road, Mayo Avenue, Chase Way and Rooley Lane.

People are advised to expect long delays due to the disruption and to avoid the area and seek alternative routes.

A spokesperson for Bradford Council, said: “The resurfacing work to these two roundabouts is necessary and although it has been planned for weekends during the school holidays it is expected to unfortunately cause major disruption. We are advising people to use alternative routes and to avoid the area if possible.”
