New Markets Shuttle bus launched in Bradford

Bradford Council is working with local bus company TLC Travel Ltd and West Yorkshire Combined Authority to make it easier for people to get to the Oastler Market. 

A new shuttle bus service is being launched that will run between the Interchange and the Oastler Market at the top of town.

The new Markets Shuttle Service will be delivered by local bus company TLC Travel Ltd as part of existing routes in the city centre, with two buses an hour going direct from the Interchange to the market.

People will be able to catch either the 635 or the 676 from Stand 1 at the Interchange to take them to the market and the 635, 643 or the 644 from either bus stop J1 on John Street or W4 on Westgate to the Interchange.

Funded wholly by West Yorkshire Combined Authority, the service will have a special fare of just 50p each way and all MCards and concessionary passes will be valid.

Coun Alex Ross-Shaw, Bradford Council’s Executive Member for Regeneration, Planning and transport, said: "We've got some great offers at Oastler Market and now it’s going to be easier than ever to get there with this new shuttle service. We're delighted to be working with TLC and the West Yorkshire Combined Authority to put this in place."

For a flat single fare of 50p, local people and visitors alike can hop between Oastler Market and Bradford Interchange with little fuss or expense. We look forward to welcoming everyone on board.”

Coun Keith Wakefield, Chair of West Yorkshire Combined Authority’s Transport Committee said: from WYCA, said: “I am pleased that the Combined Authority has been able to help support Bradford’s Oastler Market by negotiating this ticketing initiative and providing marketing to make the public aware of the opportunity to travel to the market by bus."
