Bradford road users need to be prepared for major resurfacing work being done on nine sections of roads across the district between July and September.

Work is planned for the following roads:

  • A650 Tong Street, Tong junction with Bradford Heckmondwike Road
  • A641 Huddersfield Road, Wyke, Green Lane to Whitehall Road
  • C111 Lilycroft Road, Manningham, Toller Lane to Heaton Road
  • A647 Leeds Road (outbound), Bradford, Vicar Lane to Shipley Airedale Road
  • C111 Duckworth Lane, Heaton, St Leonards Road to Crow Tree Lane
  • A6177 Carlisle Road, Manningham, Lumb Lane to Carlisle Place
  • A647 Leeds Road, Thornbury junction with Killinghall Road and Laisterdyke
  • A650 Tong Street, Tong junction with Weaverthorpe Road
  • C111 Bradford Road, Clayton, Green End to Deep Lane.

Road closures and temporary traffic lights will be in place while the work is underway. Most of the work will be done at weekends, but there will be some work done during the week. Signs, giving details of dates of work and any road closures will be put up in advance on each site.

People are warned of long delays and disruption and advised to seek alternative routes.

Coun Alex Ross-Shaw, Executive Member for Regeneration, Planning & Transport, said: “This work is important to keep our road network in good working order, but unfortunately it necessitates degree of disruption to drivers. We recommend that they try to seek alternative routes wherever possible.”
