Extended Christmas opening hours for Bradford’s markets

To allow shoppers extra time to browse and get all their Christmas presents and food, Bradford Council-run markets will be extending their opening hours.

The Oastler Shopping Centre on John Street, the Kirkgate Market which is attached to the Kirkgate Shopping and the Market Hall in Keighley have all extended their opening times in the run up to Christmas.

The Oastler Shopping Centre opening hours

  • 11 to 17 December, Monday to Saturday 8am to 5pm and Sunday 10am to 4pm.
  • 18 to 24 December, Monday to Saturday 8am to 6pm and Sunday 10am to 4pm.
  • Closed Christmas Day and Boxing Day.
  • Wednesday 27 to 30 December open 8am to 5pm.
  • Closed on New Year's Eve and New Year's Day.
  • Tuesday 2 December to Saturday 6 Jan 8am to 5pm.
  • Closed Sunday 7 January.

Kirkgate Market opening hours

  • 4 to 10 December Monday to Saturday 9am to 5pm and Sunday 10.30am to 4.30pm.
  • 11 to 24 December, Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays 9am to 5.30pm and Thursdays 9am to 7pm and Sundays 10.30am to 4.30pm.
  • Closed Christmas Day and Boxing Day.
  • Wednesday 27 to Saturday 30 December 9am to 5pm.
  • Closed New Year's Eve and New Year’s Day.
  • Tuesday 2 January to Saturday 6 January 9am to 5pm.
  • Close Sunday 7 January.

Keighley Market opening hours

  • Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays 8.30am to 5pm.
  • Extended hours on Tuesdays and Wednesdays 12 December to 24 December opening from 10am to 4pm.
  • Closed Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Year's Eve and New Year’s Day.

The Oastler Shopping Centre, Kirkgate Market and Keighley Market have over 100 stalls between them and with their fantastic selection of delis, butchers, fishmongers, fruit and veg stalls shoppers are sure to be able to find all the food they need for the festive season.

The markets also have children's, men's and ladies' clothing as well as lingerie, nightwear and hosiery for a gift or as a treat. All three markets have a range of beauty, hair and nail stalls for people to pamper themselves and help them get ready for their Christmas or New Year’s Party.

Stalls with gifts and crafts, jewellery, leather goods and bags have plenty of ideas for what to get loved ones for Christmas. There is even a stall with gifts and products for treasured pets. The Kirkgate Market has a fantastic joke and fancy dress stall as well as a tattoo artist.

All three markets have an abundance of cafes and tempting street food stalls to refresh after a long shopping trip.

Coun Alex Ross-Shaw, Bradford Council’s Executive Member for Regeneration, Transport and Planning, said: "We have fabulous markets in our district. Whether it's festive food for the big day or Boxing Day or gifts for your family and friends, I’m sure there will be something for everyone especially in the run up to Christmas. It's such a busy time of year so I’m sure these extended opening hours will be welcomed by shoppers."
