Bradford will once again pay tribute to the courage and bravery of our armed forces.

On Monday, 19 June the Lord Mayor of Bradford will mark the start of Armed Forces Week with a short flag-raising ceremony in Centenary Square at 11am.

Armed Forces Week is a chance to show support for those in the armed forces community, from serving troops to service families, veterans and cadets.

The Lord Mayor Councillor Gerry Barker will host a short ceremony to mark the beginning of this year’s Armed Forces Week.

The Lord Mayor’s Chaplain, The Rev’d Roger A. M. T. Quick, will speak, along with the Lord Mayor, and the ceremony will culminate with the Lord Mayor raising the Armed Forces Day flag, in recognition of the contribution made by His Majesty’s Armed Forces.

Other events include an annual Drumhead Service, which forms a part of the Armed Forces Day event on Saturday 24th June 2023 at 11am in Norfolk Gardens Park, City Park, Bradford.

Lord Mayor of Bradford Councillor Gerry Barker, said:  “It is really important that we honour the sacrifices that continue to be made on our behalf by members of our armed forces and their families.
