Bingley Music Live 2018 breaks records as fastest selling year to date

Almost three quarters of weekend tickets for Bingley Music Live have been sold since the line-up was announced.

Organisers of Bingley Music Live are urging people not to leave it too late to get tickets, as sales break all previous records.

Bradford Council, who run the festival, which takes place on 29 August to 2 September in Bingley’s Myrtle Park, has confirmed ticket sales have broken all previous festival records just a week after their first line-up announcement.

After much anticipation BML’s line-up was announced on 29 March to the elation of eager festival goers.

Organisers confirmed that legendary artist Noel Gallagher will headline along with Shed Seven and Jake Bugg.

Since the announcement, tickets for the weekend festival have been moving at a record pace and are almost 75% sold out already.

Last year’s Bingley Music Live sold out a month before the event and organisers suggest that with ticket sales now surpassing the 9,000 mark, this year’s event is on course to beat this own record.

Headliner Noel Gallagher was likely a motivation for many fans to snap up tickets quickly. Noel Gallagher shot to fame with Oasis in 1993 when they signed a deal with Creation Records, releasing their debut ‘Definitely Maybe’ in 1994. The band have since released seven studio albums, one live album, five compilation albums, and six studio albums. Oasis have sold an estimated 70 million records worldwide.

Bingley Music Live organisers promise that many more acts are set to join the 2018 bill. A second line-up announcement coming on the 26 April at 5pm will coincide with the release of phase two tickets at which point the price for a weekend ticket will rise to £85.

Prospective festival-goers are advised to purchase tickets as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.

Phil Barker, Assistant Director of Sport and Culture at Bradford Council, said: “This year’s line up is so strong, it’s not surprising that ticket sales have been going so well and it looks like it won’t take long for them all to go. People really need to get their tickets sorted soon to avoid disappointment. We’ve got a payment plan in place so people can spread the cost.”
