The Big Sweep

The Big Sweep – Our job with your help!

Chewing Gum

Did you know you can be fined £50 for discarding chewing gum on the pavement?

As part of the war against chewing gum, during the Big Sweep campaign we’ll be giving away chewing gum pouches for people to keep their used gum until they can dispose of it properly. You can order your chewing gum pouch by ringing 01274 433582 or by e-mail to gum@bradford.gov.uk . Please leave your name and address.

Pick yours up and send us a photo of you using the pouch on your phone or digital camera. We’ll be giving away £50, the equivalent of the fine, to the 10 best pictures. Send your pictures by text to 07855 390411 or e-mail to gum@bradford.gov.uk by noon on 10 April.

Cigarette butts

Did you know you can be fined £50 for discarding cigarette butts on the pavement?

In order to reduce the amount of cigarette butts on the streets of the district we will be handing out portable ashtrays at roadshows during the big sweep. You can also order a portable ashtray on the gum hotline on 01274 433582.

We look forward to working with you to make Bradford district an even cleaner place to live and work
