Online Register

In almost every case, to retrieve a building from being at risk, a combined effort is needed, a partnership involving the property owner, the Council, potentially an outside developer and maybe an external funding organisation. It is also important that people are made aware that buildings are at risk, both to those who own them, and the wider public who may well want to see a particular building saved.

In all instances, it is important that owners are aware that their building is at risk, preferably before the situation becomes too serious and before the costs become too great.

Focusing Attention: Grade I & Grade II* Properties English Heritage compile a register of Grade I and Grade II* listed buildings at risk as a sample of the national picture. In Bradford there are 6 buildings on this register:

Bradford’s Listed Buildings at Risk Register.

These registers provide a list of the buildings and monuments at risk within the Bradford District. The lists are arranged in alphabetical order and provide the listing grade and the ‘at risk’ grade at the time of the last update.

At present, on each register there are:

  • 171 Listed Buildings at Risk - 3.0 % of the total listed stock.
  • 102 Listed Monuments at Risk - 92.7 % of all structures; total 110. 1.7 % of the total listed stock.

The Council continue to monitor our buildings and structures at risk on a regular basis, however due to the ever-changing nature of the condition of buildings at risk, these registers will only be updated every 6 months.

If you are aware of any changes to a building or require further information, please contact us.
