Managed Shopping Centre Campaign

The aim of the Envirowise campaign is to improve resource efficiency in the shopping centres by working with the centre and market management and individual tenants to assess their waste management, water and energy use.

34 tenants from the Kirkgate centre and 21 tenants from the markets were involved in the review. There are a number of potential savings that can be made and a detailed action plan has estimated savings of up to £19,800 for the Kirkgate centre and £15,000 for the market can be made by improving recycling. Then a possible annual saving of up to £389 for the Kirkgate centre and £334 for the markets could be made for installing water initiatives.
