City Centre Wardens

The City and Town Centre Wardens Service was set up by City Centre Management in the Autumn of 2002, and became part of the Car Parks Service in October 2004.

Wardens now patrol Bradford City Centre, the University area of Little Horton and Keighley Town Centre.

The Wardens are a unique partnership between Bradford Council and West Yorkshire Police. They are employed by the Council but are based at Bradford Central Police Station. They are not Police Officers and are not responsible for responding to criminal behaviour.

They do however aim to make the areas they patrol safer and cleaner by:

  • Providing a reassuring, regular, uniformed presence
  • Assisting the police with community safety initiatives
  • Providing a quick response to litter problems or environmental and maintenance concerns
  • Acting as ambassadors, providing directions, information and advice

The Wardens can be contacted on (01274) 373152 or please feel free to talk to them in the street.
