Bradford boasts a wealth of sporting excellence right across the district, from top-class professionals to enthusiastic amateurs.

	Leading the way are the Bradford Bulls who are no strangers to the World Club rugby league championship cup. They continue to be a major force in the Super League.

The district also has a proud footballing history with Bradford City and Bradford Park Avenue flying the flag and the world famous Bradford League cricket competition one of the major summer attractions.

Golf is a major pastime among the people of Bradford and the district has more than 20 picturesque golf courses to keep every budding Tiger Woods happy.

	The Council’s own commitment to sport and leisure can be seen in its hugely successful b active campaign.
	Launched in 2003, the aim was to get more people of all ages and abilities to ‘b active, get healthy and have fun’, and has resulted in over six million visitors to Council-owned leisure centres and pools in the last three years.

Recently Ilkley’s picturesque Cow and Calf Rocks was the venue for a leg of the Tour of Britain Cycle Race. Bradford city centre was the stage for this event.
