Bradford Race Equality Scheme
The Race Relations Act 1976 as amended by the Race Relations (Amendment) Act 2000 gives public authorities a general duty to promote race equality.
To help public authorities meet the general duty to promote race equality, the Home Secretary has issued an order under the Act, which sets out specific duties in policy-making, service delivery and employment.
One of the specific duties is to publish a Race Equality Scheme, which is a coherent strategy and action plan for delivering the duties.
