Shipley Smart Clean

Nominate your local grot spot

Following on from the success of the Shipley Constituency Big Spring Clean earlier this year, the Shipley Area Committee (which met on 18th June 2008) has decided to support additional Cleansing and Highways work within the local Shipley area.

Ward Members, Parish Councils, SCAPAG members and community organisations are therefore invited to nominate suitable locations for attention through this scheme. The work, once agreed, will be delivered by the Council Street Scene and Highways Officers to include:

  • Cleansing
  • Structural repairs to ginnels, snickets and unadopted back streets
  • Cutting back vegetation
  • Small scale highway maintenance work, e.g., pot-hole filling
  • Cleaning-up
  • Tidying verges and waste ground

Please use the nomination form at the bottom of this page to nominate your choice of location (use a separate form if you would like to nominate more than one location).

Closing date: 12 noon on Monday 22nd September 2008.

All nominations will be considered by the Grants Advisory Group (made up of Elected Members from the Area Committee) at their meeting in early October 2008. The work will be completed by March 31st 2009.

Please note that this fund cannot be used for large scale projects. The Area Committee’s intention is to use this funding to improve several small locations across the Constituency rather than just one or two big ones.

For further information please contact Ali Mantle, Shipley Area Co-ordinator’s Office on 01274 437146.
