Bradford North

Bradford North is made up of the following District Council Wards:
- Bolton & Undercliffe
- Bowling & Barkerend
- Bradford Moor
- Eccleshill
- Idle & Thackley
- Manningham
The Bradford North Area encompasses a wide range of communities including East Bowling, Thornbury, Fagley, Ravenscliffe and Greengates, Thorpe Edge, Thackley, Barkerend; and the villages of Idle and Eccleshill.
The Bradford North Area has large areas of residential housing, some owned privately and some owned by social landlords. Geographically, the Area is a patchwork of separate but linked communities, each with their own identity and character. The Area extends from the edge of River Aire to the North down towards Bowling Cemetery to the South across to Heaton Road on the West and to the East with the border of Leeds City Council.
There is a rich tradition of community engagement and voluntary activity throughout the Area. Many other neighbourhoods and communities of interest have their own associations, societies, partnership or similar co-ordinatory body.
Neighbourhood Forums are held at least twice a year in every neighbourhood throughout the Area in order to give local residents the chance to have their say on local issues.
Over 1500 residents attended a Neighbourhood Forum in the Bradford North Area during 2005.
