
The Bradford Young Citizens Awards returns in Feb 2009 after the success this year. More than 180 people nominated young people this year for the awards which promotes the good work that is being undertaken by youngsters across Bradford and district. This prestigious event aims to celebrate; reward and honour children and young people’s achievements.
Celebrities, music and dance will feature at a special awards ceremony at St Georges Hall in Bradford to celebrate young people’s success.
Bradford council has organised the third Bradford Young Citizens Awards, which will take place on 10th February 2009.
People have been asked to nominate children, young people or groups for the various categories, which reflect the every child matters agenda in honour of problems they may have had to overcome to succeed.
Throughout the Bradford District children and young people are making outstanding contributions; tackling issues such as bullying within schools, promoting healthy lifestyles within communities, speaking out and addressing issues such as racism, disability, achievements and goals or helping and supporting others. Children and young people are taking action, taking part and making change.
There are 5 categories to choose from this year and they are:
- Being Healthy
- Staying Safe
- Enjoy and Achieve
- Making a Positive Contribution
- Achieve Economic Well Being
- Outstanding Achievement
