Bradford MDC Basketball in Schools Programme
Bradford Council’s Community Sports & Activities Development Unit, in partnership with the Hanson School Sports Partnership, provides basketball coaching and development for the district’s primary and secondary schools (during curriculum and after school) as well as in the community.
The focus of these sessions is on providing a quality coaching programme that will help develop participants’ physical, cognitive, social, personal and creative ability whilst set in a fun and challenging environment helping recognise, guide, support and inspire talented and enthusiastic individuals though identifying participation and performance pathways in linking with the local basketball clubs.
During the summer term, basketball is active through Bradford MDC in the following schools:
Greengates Primary
Heaton Primary
Idle CE Primary
Immanuel College
Ley Top Primary
Our Lady & St Brendan’s RC Primary
Parkland Primary
St Anthony’s RC Primary
St Luke’s CE Primary
Thackley Primary
Thorpe Primary
We would like to thank the schools for their support; progress is being made in schools throughout the district and we look forward to the future basketball festivals as well as bringing basketball into many more schools.

2009 Summer Basketball Camps
Bradford Dragons – Eurocamp – Mon, 20 July – Fri 24 July 2009
We are pleased to again present this summer’s basketball camp run by Dr Laszlo Nemeth, the former England men’s basketball coach, as part of his series of summer Eurocamps throughout Europe. Although primarily a day camp, we have residential campers who will be accommodated with local basketball families. Residential places will cost £229 and will have an additional evening basketball session after the main camp has finished for the day. Non-residential places cost £149. There maybe some access funding available if you cannot afford the full camp fee. Booking is essential. The camp runs daily from 9am to 5.30pm and is based in the new Bradford College Trinity Green Sports Hall.
The camp caters for both boys and girls, aged between 10-22 years with standards from beginners to national team level. Lunch is provided and all campers receive a uniquely numbered reversible kit to keep.
