Apprentices' Indentures
An index to apprentice indentures between 1710 and 1774 (apprentices’ names) and 1710 and 1762 (masters’ names) has been compiled for the Society of Genealogists, and a microfiche copy is available in the Reference Library. It excludes apprenticeships, such as those arranged by the poor law authorities or those between members of the same family, where no payment was involved.
