Grant Schemes
Until recently, the City of Bradford Metropolitan District Council and English Heritage have funded a Heritage Economic Regeneration Scheme (HERS), which has provided grant assistance for the repair and restoration of properties in the Saltaire Conservation Area. This scheme ran from 2001 – 2004 and funds are now fully allocated.
Similar grant schemes have been run in the past in other parts of the district, including the City Centre, the Goitside, Manningham and Thornton. As part of the assessment and review of conservation areas that is currently underway, the possibility of applying for funding for further grant schemes is being investigated.
At present the Council has no funds available to offer grants for works to Listed buildings.
English Heritage provides grant assistance for works to Grade I and II* buildings, but this is usually restricted to buildings that appear on their ‘Buildings at Risk Register'.
